Raise the curtain, the show is about to begin...
The main stage at HVH headquarters where game one will be screened for the local community. |

The wait is over. Opening day has arrived just as autumn has started to make its presence known in the Southern Hemisphere. That may be of little interest to those of you in the North, but for those of us at HVH, it's signifies a welcomed relief from the heat of summer. The heat from hot-headed fans remains, but that can be ignored.
And while we welcome the local community into our facility today, the Mariners will welcome the Red Sox into theirs. Never mind that they'll kick them out at the end of the month.
The Mariners are starting the season at less than full-strength. No Kowar, No Brash, no Santos, no Woo (which affects the starter depth more than anything), and no Vanessa Hudgens appearances are expected. But you'll live and the Mariner season won't end in April. We all know what the keys to success are, so there's no need to repeat them.
The roster will be released in the coming hours and no real surprises are expected. Not by us, anyway. This is a better team than what Seattle started the with just a year ago. It's a pity they couldn't have added more two stars in addition to the players that were brought in, but that's life. Disappointments are to be expected, especially when you're a Mariner fan.
On that note, we'll raise the curtain...
