The undertaking those men embarked on from the air and sea was pivotal to the victory of the greatest war the world has ever seen. Most people can't imagine what it was like. I only hope people at least try. Remembering and respecting the sacrifices made for freedom can be humbling and help put things into perspective. We have it so easy because of what those men did. One of the things we've benefited from is baseball, and even baseball contributed to the war effort as many players answered the call. Nowadays, all the talk in June is about players changing uniforms. There's nothing wrong with that, but here at HVH, the most honorable uniforms are those that were worn by allied servicemen and women that did their part on this day of days 82 years ago. We'll get into uniform swaps in the next post, but...
